Summer Camp Scholarship Applications----CLOSED
The Barton Springs–Edwards Aquifer Conservation District is excited to offer five scholarships for students to attend the Aquatic Science Adventure Camp hosted by the Edwards Aquifer Research and Data Center at Texas State University in San Marcos.
Each scholarship is worth $1,199 and covers the full cost of this six-day, overnight camp, where students will explore aquatic science through hands-on activities, outdoor water-based field trips, and fun learning experiences—all while staying on the Texas State University campus.
This is a great opportunity for students who are curious about water, science, and the natural world to learn, explore, and make new friends in a college-campus setting!
These scholarships are offered through the District’s annual Kent Butler Scholarship Program. Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, March 10, and winners will be contacted by the District in mid-late March.
Scholarships are available to students ages 9–14 who live within a school district that overlaps the District’s aquifer boundaries, including:
• Austin
• Del Valle
• Eanes
• Hays
• Lockhart
• San Marcos
• Wimberley
Interested students must submit the following to be considered:
1. Completed application
2. One-page essay entitled "Why I Want to Attend Aquatic Science Adventure Camp”
3. Single-page artwork that captures "Science and Outdoor Adventure" (ex. scuba diving, caving,
